The 2019 GMC Yukon Delivers its Best-Ever Powertrain

As we head into 2019, the new line of GMC Yukon models delivers its most powerful and reliable set of powertrain options to date. If you’re a driver around Vernon, Amarillo, or Lubbock you understand the value of having enough power under the hood to get the job done. With Yukon, you’ll have everything you need every time.

When it comes to the 2019 Yukon lineup, GMC has elected a quality over quantity approach to their engine options. Hence there are only two different options to choose from, a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8, both of whom leverage the manufacturer's EcoTec3 technology. The 5.3-liter V8 can get a solid 355 horsepower and 383 pounds-foot of torque while the 6.2-liter V8 offers an upgraded 420 horsepower and 460 pounds-foot of torque.

There are two transmission types with the 2019 Yukon lineup, a six-speed and a ten-speed transmission. As you might surmise, which transmission you get depends on the trim level you drive away with. Both the rear-wheel and all-wheel drive versions of the baseline Yukon come with the six-speed transmission, while the meatier Yukon XL models get the ten-speed transmission. Like the standard Yukon, both the rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive versions of the XL get the ten-speed transmission.

As always, drivers around Wichita Falls and Oklahoma City can schedule a test drive on any model in the 2019 GMC Yukon lineup. We offer financing help to anyone who needs it thanks to our relationships with financial institutions around the area, so we hope to see you in the dealership real soon.
